#MYDECLARATION: A HOMECARE WORKERS’ DECLARATION OF RIGHTS

We, the homecare workers of New York State, in order to better care for our patients, our families and ourselves, hereby declare homecare workers have the following rights:

• The right to FAIR PAY, including living wage, overtime, paid time off, and reimbursement for travel costs

• The right to HEALTH & SAFETY, including affordable health care, paid sick days, and better trainings

• The right to FAIR SCHEDULING, including guaranteed hours and coverage if we need to take time off

• The right to PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION to get us to our clients’ homes efficiently
